    On May 9-10, artist Karthik Pandian hosts VIBRATIONS, two days of public programs at Midway Contemporary Art, Minneapolis in relation to his solo exhibition Surrendur.

    On May 9th, acclaimed composer Douglas R. Ewart will improvise on a variety of instruments while audience members are invited to read, sing, or chant poetry, fiction, lyrics, or prayers that have been sources of support, solace, or inspiration for them since 2020.

    On May 10th, Pandian has organized conversations between his collaborators and invited guests including Mike Forcia (Bad River Anishinaabe), Ta Pejuta Wicahpi Win (Hunkpati Dakota Oyate), Lakshmi Padmanabhan, Elliott Powell, Palita Chunsaengchan, and more. The 80-minute video at the center of Pandian’s installation Surrendur will be screened in its entirety immediately before (starting at 11:30am) and after (starting at 4pm) the May 10th program.
